Remember when Sri Lanka let anti-GMO activists write their agricultural policy and then they ran out of food and then the farmer bailout gave them 54% inflation. Don't know why I just thought of that.

To me, it looked like the Sri Lankan government saw banning fertilizer imports as an easy way to (temporarily) stave off a collapse in the currency rather than an actual desire for organic farming. But I don't know what was going on in their heads.
The policy was to produce organic and export. Import for food or other needs. They went Bankrupt (due to aftereffects of covid) hence the policy went Kaput.
Yes. I’ve tweeted about this several times. A lot of Americans really did vote for Trump because of high groceries. If Trump lets Kennedy loose & goes through the tariff plan we in the US will find out what high prices & food scarcity actually look like.
This is a great example of your positions: after 40 years of deregulation and pro-capital policy, we are living in a capitalist society that is clearly failing...and yet your 'solution' is to double down on that failed strategy.
