It’s endlessly funny how the pesticide industry abuses this story about a fertilizer ban to justify pesticides.
To me, it looked like the Sri Lankan government saw banning fertilizer imports as an easy way to (temporarily) stave off a collapse in the currency rather than an actual desire for organic farming. But I don't know what was going on in their heads.
The policy was to produce organic and export. Import for food or other needs. They went Bankrupt (due to aftereffects of covid) hence the policy went Kaput.

Yes. I’ve tweeted about this several times. A lot of Americans really did vote for Trump because of high groceries. If Trump lets Kennedy loose & goes through the tariff plan we in the US will find out what high prices & food scarcity actually look like.

and farmers had to be BAILED OUT WITH BILLIONS OF DOLLARS, because NO ONE WOULD BUY OUR CROPS
