This, btw, is why every military ground vehicle will be a hybrid very soon.

Was catching up on drone battery specs and … 16kW/kg is just bananas. Helicopter turboshaft engines (sans fuel) are <10kW/kg.

- ditch complex hydraulics - give turret / anti drone systems tons of electrical power - shut the engine off while stationary and eliminate the thermal signature - have faster acceleration and likely redundancy vs. mines
They're working on using electric transmissions as the first step. Batteries should be coming soon. Fuel savings is around 30%.
A turboshaft without fuel is not <10kW/kg. This is a nonsense number. Also kW is not energy but just power, two very different things. People who do not understand physics should not try to talk about it.
Are they going to bring a mobile nuclear micro power plant into the war arena to provide the electricity? People are brainwashed and to lazy to think.
I remember reading how during the Afghanistan war that the US military was really into solar because the trucks hauling fuel to all its bases were so vulnerable to random attacks.
