I wonder if these people know that we used to have a rule like this called the fairness doctrine. It was abolished under Ronald Reagan and that move made right-wing talk radio hosts like rush Limbaugh possible.

It was abolished because it was mostly fake, Republicans correctly perceived that it was ineffective at preventing broadcast media from being taken over by far left actors.
It wasn’t mostly fake. Many broadcast stations minimized coverage of political campaigns and controversial issues because they didn’t want to have to give equal time to every viewpoint on that issue.
The Reagan is the reason why California has homeless is still played by many. This was when he was governor, over 50 years ago. Reagan as scapegoat shows how strong his brand was and still is.
I wonder if people know that the BBC is required to be impartial by law, and what these nouveau right-wing fans of a fairness doctrine think about the BBC's impartiality in covering the news
