Rubio was completely correct here. The incentives now are for every nation to develop their own nuclear weapons. Failing to defend Ukraine makes the world dramatically more dangerous. Trump and Vance are the ones bringing us closer to WWIII.

That time @marcorubio explained how USA, Russia & the UK promised Ukraine to provide for their defense forever if they gave up the huge stockpile of nuclear weapons left in the country after the Soviet Union fell. Good times.

Yup, and as we know, those promises were worthless. Bring it back to the here and now. Does that mean Ukraine will develop some nukes? Assume they have nukes - then what? Will they use them? And what happens an hour later?
I see Ukraine as unlikely in the short term. Germany, Japan, and South Korea all have strong incentives, though. Ukraine has the incentives, but not the resources or relative safety required.
This stark about face from common sense and previously held ideals is the sad a hallmark of so many of our civic leaders on the center-right. Some have resisted, but so many others have capitulated on the very ideas and principles on which they stood.
Non-proliferation is actually a really tough problem now. If you’re a country that wants sovereign safety, it seems pursuing nuclear weapons is the best course of action (see Iran, North Korea, Pakistan, India) Libya and Ukraine negotiated away their nuclear weapons and it

reminder: Russia doesn’t even need to go nuclear 🤷🏻‍♂️

Just the thought of the EU creating a European army to "take on Russia" sounds ridiculous. Russia possesses hypersonic missiles capable of reaching the entire European continent in minutes, against which Europe currently has no effective defense systems. Russia can wipe out

If I'm *any* close US ally today, I'm thinking of getting nukes if I don't have them already. Germany, Japan and S. Korea in particular would be nuts not to consider this (even if this means overcoming taboos)
A thousand kilometer accurate cruise missile, targeting power infrastructure, is essentially a nuclear weapon. No electricity, hello hell.
Pretty sure a war between countries that already have massive nuclear capabilities is far worse !
The cold logic of realism, when pursued to the full extent, means that global security is achieved when every nation has a bunch of nuclear missiles pointed at every other nation. That's it I'm buying a bunker. fk all you guys lmao
Putin can’t last a 100 years. But Elon is right. People like you and me, will destroy our own planet.

Elon Musk’s tragic cognitive decline is a lesson for all high performing people: drugs are no substitute for exercise when keeping your mind & brain healthy in your 40s, 50s & beyond.
Who could have ever predicted that the Trump administration would be all about massive grift and extraction of American taxpayer wealth for private gain for government-favored cronies

This is getting egregious. Every 2 weeks there is a kickback to the family. Completely delegitimizes all the work DOGE is doing.
Yes, but the point is to transfer money from the U.S. taxpayer to Trump's friends. So from that standpoint it's smart.

Tucker Carlson was unhappy that I pointed out he was spreading false information that came from Russian propaganda about Ukrainian weapons being sold on the Internet. He reached out saying I was wrong, and I asked him for evidence so I could offer a correction. You can see that
