Which issues are 18-28 year olds more conservative on than 28-43 or however the breakdown goes? Mostly about immigration? I have a hard time seeing the bulk of 21 year olds being pro-life or wanting lower taxes in exchange for medicaid cuts.
The definitions of what left wing and right wing and liberal and conservative mean have been turned on their heads.
For example, do you think these policy ideals below are left wing or right wing?:
Mostly due to Latinos and Asian under 25 but it is interesting data. I do think it’s true GenZ are little more conservative than Millenials. They didn’t live through the late 90’s and early 2000’s period of sexual liberation, and many have been red pilled.
It’s a major problem for the Democratic Party. But these things have a way of going in cycles. The Republican Party in its previous iteration was being left for dead in 2012 and then they evolved and adapted.
I think the Trump is special and generational. I wonder how many of these gains will stick after he leaves the scene.
Simple and apolitical/nobiased answer: kids want change, often radical change. They see that most institutions from education to corporations to media were left-leaning and so rebelled against that.

This is all because of JOBS and affordability. Illegal immigrants took jobs, and there are not enough jobs in the economy in any case.

I saw this yesterday and it triggered me so bad. I’m not really sure why. Maybe because I have a son but he’s still little and part of Gen Alpha. Thoughts ran thru my mind that 18 years of me teaching him to be empathic and kind would be wiped away but MAGA peer pressure
It is very predictable. The democrats have a fundamentally anti-human message. That might convince the old doomers, but the young have optimism, and will resist such garbage.

Shouldn't be surprising, really. Public sentiment is like financial markets, it goes too far in one direction, then it turns and goes too far the other way. Market sharks push and pull prices to extend bubbles and crashes, and politicians do the same with political opinion.

The only way they'll learn is by experiencing what conservatives actually do. Let them get the economic crash. Cut everything that helps the middle class and poor. Fuck it all up. Don't stop them. Let them get their full conservative country.
These kids can't see a future for themselves, with expenses far greater than incomes. Electing Trump was an attempt to change the status quo. Trump is not their failure.

My granddaughter & her large group of friends (mid-teens) are certainly more serious critical thinkers, more conservative, more reality based, more health conscious, more historical & world vision minded, & more community service minded. Most are Christian homeschooled leaders.
My kids are all Gen Z. Kids in this generation are more likely to knit than do drugs, they're homebodies, and they like traditional values.
The thing is this is not surprising at all. I am a man in this group.
We have been told our whole lives that those before us had it better. We have watched millennials go off the deep end of cultural issues. We have seen cultural issues force their way into our lives

Very difficult for me to believe this unless our definition of Conservative and Liberal cultural beliefs have changed. Do young people now want to undo Obergefell? Are they for the erasure of Trans person from public life?
