Dockworkers delaying a strike? Sounds like they're just giving competitors a chance to catch up on their New Year's resolutions: finding a new supply chain.
Retired union member here. I absolutely agree with this. They will get a good contract, with also showing good will because of Helene.
Joe Biden presses companies and 45,000 US dock workers to make a deal and they do so within a week with a 62% increase in pay over 6 years Fixed it for you
They haven’t had a strike in 47 years. Trump might lose to a great economy and all the sudden we have a strike (even with a 50% pay increase.)

Thank goodness. I had to do my regular trip to Costco today. Here was sign at the door. Luckily, I stay relatively ahead of paper products (and a lot of other things) because the idiots that were shopping today were something else. I almost threw down with a suburban bimbo.

The ILA leader met with Trump Nov 2023 and then made some threatening speeches. Maybe someone reminded him he'd ALSO be hurting so many right before the holidays, including: - his own workers - corporations' workers - Helene's victims
this is an extention of the negotiation period- they work under the old contract with an immediate $4 hr raise
