Obviously if the state party wants to maximize its odds of winning they would nominate Golden. I think it’s fine to say you have other priorities but just straight-up dishonest to deny that point.

NEW statement from Dem Rep Jared Golden >> It doesn't address whether Platner should drop out of #MESEN or whether Golden would run “I have to this point stayed quiet about this year’s elections in my state ... I think Ms. Racicot’s testimony speaks for itself" Full statement:

Why do we keep saying this phrase "X Party should nominate Y" as if this is not an election. Is it even legal to "nominate" someone forcibly like this in states anymore? You have to get people to vote for you. You don't just......DO things
He seems to genuinely be fed up with politics due to the bullying from the left wing… very unfortunate
Golden has to choose to run voluntarily. The state party can't nominate him against his will.
Matt, aren't you going to stick up for your boy, Platner. Also, Golden doesn't seem to want the job, which was the main problem with Mills.
Guy who lives in DC and wrote a book about bringing a billion immigrants into the country should probably take him own advice

Sorry, he'd have to cut some kind of deal with the populist wing for something here, or else many of them will indeed stay home. You may not like that part of the party's base but you do need them. Golden in the past has expressed support for Medicare for All. Start there?
Jared Golden supported Trump's tariffs and voted for the SAVE act.... On big issues like those, he isn't that different from Susan Collins. Seems like a bad choice..
You really aren’t beating the “I don’t care about our country being culpable for Israeli revanchism and mass murder” allegations, huh

Not clear you are right. Representative Golden has my admiration. But I sense that Israel-hating progs and the Trump-deranged might not vote for him.
