1980s GOP believed the juice. early 2000s republican voters realized their party sold them out. 2008 democrats never realized their party sold them out. 2025 republicans still know their party sold them out, and that democrats were sold out by their party to the same buyers.

Reagan talked a good game, but I honestly think that the marrying of him & Republican party to the underbelly(back then) of Evangelical movement leads me to believe any Rep that idolizes him got played. big time.
I would vote for a Reagan era again - what it is now is abhorrent. It’s like the usual corruption in government but x1000
This perfectly captures today’s GOP. Weakness is never a good look. Getting rolled in opening negotiations with the Russians is also a bad look.

To be fair, I am British, and they have been good at giving away other people's land for a long time...
Ha yes, the good old fallacy that doesn’t take the fact that the Soviet Union dissolved between both events, nor that Russia has been a trusted allies until NATO expanded and forced it to take some Ukrainian regions, regions whom had already voted to get out anyway, might I had.
If Reagan hadn’t lowered taxes on the wealthy and corporate interests, none of this would be possible.
Reagan’s domesting policy was dire, but you can't knock his foreign policy, the man had hatred for Russia flowing through his veins.
They had all of Ukraine and half of Germany when Reagan was President.NATO has been creeping forward ever since. Russia said no more but the warmongers wouldn’t listen.
The Cold War was never about fighting Russians. It was about freedom-loving people fighting against the existential threat of tyrannical Communism. That fight still goes on, including right here within our own country. But the Russia-Ukraine conflict is not really part of it.
We aren't the GOP, we are MAGA, and war is bad. Ending the war and stopping the lives from being lost is more important than geopolitical squabbles.
For some reason people are not understanding that Ukraine is not part of NATO Nor will it be or should it be.
You're so intentionally dishonest. The quote you're butchering for your own aims was the promise made to Gorbachev that NATO would expand "not one inch" to the east if the Soviet Union agreed to German reunification.
