yeah imagine living among the remnants of a superior civilization
First image shows the red Golden Gate Bridge spanning a body of water with cables and towers visible, city skyline in the background under a partly cloudy sky. Second image depicts the white Space Needle tower with a saucer top and American flag, surrounded by green trees, buildings, and a clear blue sky. Third image displays the Empire State Building lit in green lights at dusk, with its spire and antennas prominent against a cityscape and orange sunset sky.

I wonder what this did to the psyche of the Italians and much of Mediterranean Europe, to live for centuries among the ruins of infrastructure that was impossible to recreate

All the pictures you are posting are soulless. Particularly NY, which is full of cannabis smell and looks like a degenerated Gotham. The brutality of those pics leave little space for soul development. Even nowadays standing among these ruins will give you something that

We still quite regularly build vast and complex infrastructure, often at greater scale than examples shown, we just take longer and make it uglier.
I’m sorry but the bay bridge is more of an engineering marvel compared to the Golden Gate Bridge. Maybe not compared of the technology of each’s respective era
We say that now, perched on our links of the downward chain. Birds closer to the bottom will look at our 6 7 days in envy. That’s what decline looks like.
That is not what the tweet say. It is indeed impossible to recreate the infrastructure of the Roman Empire because of the materials. Giant solid rocks, giant marble sculptures everywhere...
this is a bad comparison, what you posted is more aking to cleopatra living among the pyramids built by her ancestors
All of these structures are inferior. They don't match the detail of our ancestors whatsoever. I don't care about glass and neon lights, I care about detail.
Wow turns out building a society founded on the idea that those unnamed behind central banks immediately capturing 5-7% of the total economy simply for being in a position of power would lead to detrimental issues with labor and output
Only a couple years after that space needle was built Seattle had the worst recession in its history and didn’t recover its population until sometime beginning in the 21st century lol
I actually think about the Empire State building a lot. took 1 year and looks amazing. We cant do that today
