1/7 In the fourth year of the war, Ukraine suddenly found a real weak point for the Russian Federation. This is air traffic. Due to massive drone attacks in the European part of Russia, flights are paralyzed today. Airports are in collapse.

2/7 Planes are canceled or delayed for 8-10 hours. Thousands of passengers have accumulated at airports and cannot take off. To achieve such an effect, you don't even need to hit anywhere.
3/< A drone can simply fly and cut circles, and this is enough to stop the operation of airports. Ukraine has nothing to lose in this regard - our airports have been closed since 2022. But in Russia, air traffic has still been maintained everywhere, except for border regions.
4/7 And then in the last day or so, the situation has changed. Russians felt what Ukrainians felt in 2022. Air traffic has been disrupted. And most importantly, it has been disrupted in Moscow, which is a key hub. Russian bloggers are already sounding the alarm.
5/7 They write that the collapse of air traffic in such a large country as Russia could lead to disintegration and feudalization. Domestic air traffic in Russia is very developed due to the long distances.

6/7 It takes 3-4 days to get to some regions from Moscow by train or car, so a plane is the only fast option. And if it is not there, the connection of remote regions with Moscow will actually simply stop.

7/7 I don't know why Ukraine didn't do this earlier and didn't use this trump card. But now we can state that a very unpleasant pain point for the Russian Federation has been found.

1/2 Russian "Z-bloggers" report the most massive drone attack on Russia last night. According to one of them, 447 long-range drones and missiles were deployed on Russia last evening and last night. He believes this will continue.

We MUST BOMB Military Parade in Moscow. We will. Russian forces ruin Ukrainian homes and families daily under the guise of hunting "NATO mercenaries." Can you name a single reason why Ukraine shouldn't strike these countless, legitimate military targets in Moscow? It’s WAR.

Is that so? Located 1255km from Ukraine, the main factory for the manufacture of Russia's KAMAZ truck company is burning.....
The biggest single effect is that all the Russian propaganda telling all Russian citizens that Ukraine is beat is now clearly seen to be lies and now for the first time Russians can be afraid.
One of these days, a Russian airliner will crash killing dozens of passengers and the Kremlin will blame the West for not allowing maintenance on the jets they stole, without realizing they could simply, you know, NOT FLY.
One correction: there is no "European" part of russia. It's all just a vile post-Mongol swamp full of barbarian sh*T.
Wellll, not exactly, Belarus and part of Russia, Moscow included are on the European continent. I guess every one has his black sheeps somewehere...
In the US we’ve accomplished this exact result by using antiquated air traffic control systems that unpredictably break down.
Reason #1000000 why war in the modern age is incredibly stupid. So easy to shut down society. Imagine if Ukraine had functioning long range strike.
Just curious for the game plan if Ukraine successfully annoys Russia. Where does this end? A country that has sacrificed hundreds of thousands of its men will walk away because of air travel delays? My sympathies to Ukraine - a pawn used by Nuland and Vindmann et al.
Majority of Ukrainians fighting from central & eastern Ukraine and didn't volunteer whilst Bandera 14th waffen SS Grenadier Galician xoxhol scum fled to be parasites in EU countries where they reveal true nature and are rightly despised as gypsies
Ukraine has ultra long range drones. And they should just fly decoys (with some real ones mixed in) every day at major airports (valid dual use targets). Don’t need to score many hits - the perpetual disruption to air traffic will be enough.
Whenever there's the question of "why didn't they do this sooner", ask "Did the Americans pressure them to not do it?". Good chance you'll find your answer
Let's game this out: How do you expect Russia to retaliate against this? How would the US retaliate if someone did this to US air traffic?
Not just air traffic, everything in Russia runs through Moscow. If Moscow can be consistently disrupted - planes, cars, trains, power etc... Russia is fucked.
It's a great and cheap way of causing economic damage and annoyance without civilian casualties.
I wonder if the Houthi attack on Ben gurion was a lesson that there won't be international outcry over an airport attack. If so, they've been overly cautious imo but maybe that was enough for a western backer to retract their objection
> I don't know why Ukraine didn't do this earlier I don't pretend to be an expert, but I've thought from the beginning UKR should infiltrate squads into RUS. Target airports. Power stations. Bridges. Railways. Dams. Make war catastrophically expensive for RUS.
Did they identify a weak spot or are they finally allowed to do what hurts the aggressor, now that Americans and Germans aren’t telling them what to do bc wHaT iF rUZZia FaLLs aPaRT sO sCaRY
Avoid the loss of your armed forces - rather than sink battleships, drain the sea don't shoot down warplanes, cut off their fuel supplies same deal for troops, cut off their food supplies (& R&R activities!)
They could shut down much more than airports by hitting Russia's power grid and destroying the major substations. I wouldn't expect many Russian places to have good backup generators, so most businesses and transport would be shut down. Potentially for weeks.
