My opinion is Costco's supply charge (annual fee) should be banned in Australia. This is because it prevents accurate market information from reaching customers by making the actual cost of items harder to determine. Properly functioning low info cost markets are useful.

carrying a more limited selection actually allows me to keep track of the regular stuff and the stuff on rotation. More predictable shopping experience as well
